A National Panel of SSW, Educators, & School Health Experts Talk About Reopening: Free Webinar June 18th 7 p.m. Central

Editor’s Note: I am thrilled to be bringing a school social work perspective to this panel that was organized by the “Relentless School Nurse” herself, Ms. Robin Cogan. Check out her blog in the link below, and join her with yours truly, Dr. Jonathan Singer (Social Work Podcast and national suicide prevention expert) and our Loyola SMHAPP students for our 15th Annual Loyola SMHAPP/FSPP Summer Institute July 16th-17th. Here Robin writes about the free webinar she organized for this week–thank you Robin for your leadership!)

School reopening is on all of our minds. It’s what keeps those of us who work in education up at night. It is the chatter on social media and the focus of those tasked with creating re-entry plans. What we don’t have are clear national guidelines from our previously most trusted public health source, the CDC. Parents are rightfully confused and concerned because the messaging has been so mismanaged and poorly executed.
91 Questions for Reopening Schools has had more than 40,000 views on The Relentless School Nurse. Since then, Dr. David Aderhold, the author and NJ School Superintendent has written two updates, bringing the number of questions to 284. Clearly, there are more questions than answers.
This coming Thursday evening, June 18th at 8:00 pm ET, there will be a free Zoom webinar with a national panel of educators and school health experts who will share insights on best practices for mitigating health risks as we work to safely reopen our schools.
