About is a free online resource and community dedicated to supporting the professional practice of school social workers and other school mental health professionals. was first created in 2012 by school social worker, Scott Carchedi, who sought to fill the gap in online resources dedicated to the practice of school social work.

In 2016, became a collaborative effort is currently operated an maintained by an editorial team consisting of Dr. Michael Kelly, Scott Carchedi, and Michele Patak-Pietrafesa.
