Ali Hearn, What is PBIS? What does it mean to be a ‘Social Emotional Leader’?

Ali Hearn, MSW, LCSW is a Technical Assistance Director with the Midwest Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Network in partnership with the U.S Department of Education’s National PBIS Technical Assistance Center.

Ali is a national provider of leadership, training, technical assistance, and coaching to teams, schools, districts, coaches and communities implementing PBIS at the Universal, Secondary, and Tertiary levels.

She supports District Leadership Teams through the process of developing and implementing comprehensive school improvement plans. Ali also develops and enhances Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 PBIS curriculum used in Illinois and nationally to enhance fidelity of implementation and develop systems that support and empower educators.

Before joining the PBIS team, Ali worked as a school-based social worker for seven years working with youth in grades K-12 as well as youth in multiple educational environments.

Ali received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Illinois, her Master’s in Social Work from Loyola University in Chicago and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
