Going Back To School With Social Workers: Join Our Public Education Campaign

Hello SSWN readers! Welcome back to your school year, and back to our site. This is going to be a busy school year here at SSWN and our sister SSWNetwork site, and to get things started, we wanted to make everyone here aware of a dynamic new social media campaign by the School Social Work Association of America (SSWAA) and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) that we’re proud to support.
The National Communication Campaign (detailed in the pdf link attached here) is a joint collaboration between SSWAA and NASW to educate the public about what we do and why it’s so vital to schools. The overall goals of the campaign are:
JOINT CAMPAIGN OBJECTIVES:
- Raise public awareness of the role of school social workers
- Encourage school systems to hire more school social workers
- Encourage more social workers to join SSWAA and NASW
- Highlight research that proves that social workers help students and schools succeed
- Empower school social workers by giving them tools to help them better articulate and promote the valuable work they do, and
- Raise morale of the school social work workforce
Check out the campaign and stay tuned here at SSWN for more updates on how all of our readers here can contribute to this important initiative. For now, everyone here at SSWN wishes you a fantastic start to your school year and we thank you for all the vital work you do for your schools.
